2024 meeting

The 2024 AGM was held on Wednesday, November 20th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Arbutus Room of Commonwealth Place. Notification of the meeting was published in the Fall newsletter and a flyer was delivered door-to-door. The President, Stuart Macpherson, also sent an email notice to all those members for whom we have email addresses. There were 19 members in attendance.

The FCA constitution requires that the financial procedures of the organization be audited each year. After the Treasurer (Carl Ross) presented his financial report, the key findings of the auditors (Cyril Kelly and Nicki Cameron) were presented. These reports are embedded in the AGM PowerPoint presentation.

At 7:00 p.m., prior to the start of the formal AGM, there was a presentation by Wade Roberts from Wade Roberts Plumbing. He discussed the problems associated with polybutylene piping when used in residential homes. It is prone to developing leaks, especially at the joints and many homes in the Falaise community were built using this piping. The 2023 AGM was held on Thursday, November 30th, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. in the Cedar Room of Commonwealth Place. Notification of the meeting was published in the Fall newsletter and a flyer was delivered door-to-door. The President, Stuart Macpherson, also sent an email notice to all those members for whom we have email addresses. There were 18 members in attendance.

At 7:00 p.m., prior to the start of the formal AGM, there was a presentation by staff from Coastal Heat Pumps. They had a display showing the typical hardware and answered a wide range of questions from the audience.

The 2022 AGM was held on Thursday, November 24th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Notification of the meeting was published in the Fall newsletter and a flyer was delivered door-to-door. The President, Stuart Macpherson, also sent an email notice to all those members for whom we have email addresses. The in-person meeting was held in the Douglas Fir Room of the Commonwealth Place. There were 16 members in attendance.

At 7:00 p.m., prior to the start of the formal AGM, there was a presentation by Rosalind Scott, President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Vancouver Island, entitled “Current Scams and How to Protect Yourself“.

2021 meeting

The 2021 AGM was held on Wednesday, November 17th, from 7 to 9 p.m. Notification of the meeting was published in the Fall newsletter, on this website and a flyer was delivered door-to-door. The President, Stuart Macpherson, also sent an email notice to all those members for whom we have email addresses. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, members were given the option to attend in person or by Zoom. The in-person meeting was held in the Douglas Fir Room of the Commonwealth Place. John Arduini set up computer systems that allowed for easy interaction between those on Zoom and those in the meeting room. There were 23 members in attendance with 13 of them by Zoom.

2020 meeting

The 2020 AGM was held on Wednesday, November 18th, from 7 to 9 p.m. Notification of the meeting was published in the Fall newsletter and on this website. The President, Bob Lucy, also sent an email notice to all those members for whom we have email addresses. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held by video conference, using Zoom. Procedures for using Zoom had been tested by members of the Board and instructions posted on the website. Except for one resident, everyone who signed up was able to join the meeting.

The 2019 AGM was held Wednesday, November 13th from 7 to 9 pm in a meeting room at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr.
